Highway 101 Project

Project Description & Scope

These three Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) projects constructed 8.2 miles of high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, steel soldier piles, sign structures, continuously reinforced concrete pavement, and construction of three new precast prestressed concrete bridges.

Mozamo provided quality assurance and verification services for this project, which included fabrication inspection, material quality, coordinating inspection activities, and assuring quality of materials delivered to the jobsite. We worked in support of the Caltrans Resident Engineer and Structure Representative to ensure that the project was delivered on-time, within budget, and meets the specifications. The project consisted of new bridges over South Padaro Lane, Arroyo Paredon Creek, and Toro Creek. The bridges were built using precast prestressed box girder and voided slab members. The Mozamo team provided quality assurance (QA) inspection and oversight of the precast concrete members, which were all delivered and installed on the jobsite with no issues. The Mozamo team also provided QA inspection and oversight of the off-site structural steel fabrication of these critical project items.
