Chris McDermott
Chris McDermott is a construction manager specializing in roadway, building and bridge construction. He has more than 14 years of engineering and construction management experience with transportation and infrastructure projects. Chris has a diverse skill set having worked for contractors, fabricators, engineering consultants and a public agency. Chris is also a materials engineer. He has six years of experience working with the California Department of Transportation as a materials engineering and testing services representative providing quality assurance and source inspection of structural materials such as pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete, welding, structural steel, and high-strength fasteners.
In addition to his California Professional Engineer license, he holds an AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification, PCI Level III inspector certification, a Class A contractor’s license, OSHA 10-hour safety certified, Caltrain Joint Powers Board Railway Safety Certified and he is a registered QSD/QSP.
Chris grew up in Manteca, CA and graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA with a bachelor’s degree in engineering management.
Chris enjoyed math and science since growing up so he decided to study civil engineering in college. After his first summer internship at a construction company, he realized that he loved civil engineering, and knew that he was on the right career path.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golf, DIY home improvement projects and trips to the beach.
